Developments in DSC Scouting Ministry
There are now three "Scouting Ministry Specialist" in The Desert Southwest Conference. Mr. James Larsen has completed the registration process for this new position and is excited about serving in the scouting ministry. Larsen joins Chuck Moyer, Scouting Coordinator for South District, and Doug Wright, Desert Southwest Conference Scouting Coordinator as the first three SMS designees within The Desert Southwest Conference. There are approximately 92 new SMS specialists now across the entire country.
The Scouts attending this Summer Camp season at Camp Lawton atop Mt. Lemmon have been conducting Scout Vesper's Services thanks to Chuck Moyer and learn about the role of the Scouting Ministry Specialist to communicate information to their units and churches, promote scouting awards, and support the District and Conference Scouting Coordinators.
“It is my hope that this new ministry will be most helpful in promoting ministry growth across The Desert Southwest Conference, in this the 100th Anniversary Year of Scouting!” said Doug Wright, Desert Southwest Conference Scouting Coordinator.
