What is Relevance Sunday?

What is Relevance Sunday and what does it support?
Relevance Sunday is simply a Sunday that has been designated to support Young Adult Ministries of the Desert Southwest Conference. On Sunday, September 12, 2010 your special offering will support young adult ministries. It will support events such as Relevance X, a now 3-day conference that seeks to understand the need for church growth and work to develop means to make new disciples. This conference will continue to support and empower young adults who may not have the skills or the voice in the church, encouraging them to be leaders in their local churches. During offering you and your church will have the opportunity to be one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry with all the world by supporting young adult ministry.
Who is Relevance Sunday for?
Relevance Sunday is really for every church in the conference to participate. In being one body, we realize that great things happen when we work together in this connectional system. We are asking all churches to participate and encourage their congregations to support this effort. Yes, every little bit does help!
Can I only give on Relevance Sunday?
In order to celebrate the work being done by our conference, we selected 9/12/10 as Relevance Sunday. We hope that on this Sunday, congregations would post stories and pictures on facebook.com/relevancex so that together, we may share the work that we do. You can also email your pictures to info@relevancex.com. (Pictures from phones work just as well!) We understand that you may have other plans already in place for 9/12/10, therefore any Sunday in September can be used to support young adult ministries.
How Can I get more information?
How about invite a young adult to come speak at your church? We would love to come talk to you more about Relevance Ministries and how you and your congregation can support young adults in this conference. We believe that every congregation and its leaders play a role in young adult ministries. We encourage you to visit relevanceonline.com/Sunday to get more information about the event as well.

Yes! E-mail glen@relevancex.com to receive materials by mail. Also visit relevanceonline.com/Sunday to download images AND a quick, 30 second promo video that you can play this Sunday, post on your website, or post on your social networking site! Together we can make change!
What can I do right now?
Go ahead and launch your e-mail and start sending messages to your congregation telling them about Relevance Sunday! Post information in your bulletin, announce this Sunday morning, and send information through all your communication channels. In fact we would love for you to e-mail glen@relevancex.com so we can begin to compile a list of those that will be taking part in Relevance Sunday! We need help getting the word out, and we need your support.
