Higher Education and Campus Ministries
The Desert Southwest Conference is affiliated with 4 collegiate ministries in the Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff and Las Vegas areas. Contact information is below for those wishing to connect with Higher Education ministry leaders.
Connect in Phoenix, AZ:
Students from all over Phoenix are invited to engage in activities at First United Methodist Church of Tempe. You can find out more about this ministry at www.valleywesley.com or by contacting Rev. Jeri Wilkerson directly at Jeri@valleywesley.com.
Rev. Jeri (Jerellen) Wilkerson received her undergraduate in nursing from University of Florida and her Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology. She became an ordained elder in 2011. Serving as a campus minister at Arizona State University is her passion. It is both challenging and rewarding for her to engage with a diverse student body on issues of faith and spirituality. As the only fully ordained woman in campus ministry at ASU Tempe, Jeri feels that it is important for students to know that all persons can be called by God to serve. One of her main goals is to empower students to reach their full potential in their spiritual lives by allowing them to engage fully in ministry from preaching to teaching, helping with the sacraments and leading worship. By these means, Jeri hopes that students will be fully present to the ways God is calling them.
