Telling a Different Story
LAS VEGAS, NV— When we focus on empowering one another through worship and service, uniting our voices, and actively creating change in our respective communities, we are part of more then an event or conference. Three years ago, followers began a conversation that has sparked a movement. Today the under 35 crowd in our mainline denominations are ready to address the exodus from the church.
In the exile of 587, it didn't lead to despair and loss of faith, rather Waleter Brueggeman phrases it as saying "the exile became a remarkable moment in the life of the Jewish community for inventive and generative faith, which experimented with new articulations of that faith...", Today, as we search for meaningful communities that have accepted our multifaceted lives we must ask ourselves, "How do we move beyond exile?"
Is there life after exile? Can we hope in exile? Yes, but only if we are ready to create and tell a different story
“You believe because I told you I saw you under the tree. you will see greater things than that.” —John 1:50
